Basic Black Skirt x 3

Happy Friday!

Gizmo's favorite nap spot is quite lovely in the morning sun.

I am thrilled to finally share with you the photos taken by my friend and Phoenix photographer, Kerriann, this past Sunday. Deciding what item of clothing to use as the basis for this shoot was pretty easy. Last week, I thrifted this super cute, short, black, button down Express skirt at Goodwill. It was in perfect shape and completely lined; I couldn't believe it! As you can imagine, there is nothing that doesn't go with a simple, black skirt. Really, nothing. When putting together a few outfits for the blog, I found the skirt could be paired with any top from my closet and it would somehow work out. Amazing! How have I have lived so long without such a critical wardrobe staple? Somehow, I feel my life is more complete with this skirt.

I love skirts with pockets!

I seem to own many tops with ornate backs or back accents. So many, in fact, that my husband has coined the term "baccents."

Gold leather bracelet: Phoenix Public Market vendor
Vintage mood ring: Thrifted

Mirror, mirror on the wall....why am I having such a bad hair day?

Ok, back to the last Sunday.... Kerriann did an amazing job making me feel relaxed during the photo shoot  You would think that because we are friends, her taking a few photos of me while basically playing dress up would make for a fun Sunday morning. I realized once she pulled out the camera that I was a wee bit nervous. The thought of my pictures out there for the world to see....Scary. But, after we started chatting a bit, my anxiety disappeared and I started to enjoy myself.

My favorite part was taking the shots in front of this gorgeous, modern home for sale in central Phoenix (you can see it pretty well in the profile pic I recently added). Morgan and I live close to the property and had the pleasure of touring the home during an open house recently. It is rated an energy efficient home, with top of the line everything throughout. The floors are finished concrete and the counters are quartz. Seriously, if you or anyone you know is looking for a new build, modern home in Central Phoenix, check out this eco-friendly home here.

Thank you for reading and have a great weekend! I have a recipe post coming up this weekend...please check it out :-)
